Blackpool has plenty of martial arts on offer — boxing, BJJ, taekwondo, MMA. We do something different: real-world Krav Maga, the self-defence system built to work when it actually matters. Adults, teens and kids, across four local venues.
Most martial arts were designed around a sport, a tradition or a ruleset. Krav Maga wasn't. It was developed for the Israeli Defence Forces and refined over decades into a civilian system with one job: keep you safe and get you home. There are no belts that mean nothing on a Friday night in town, no forms, no rituals — just the techniques that work, drilled against the attacks you might actually face.
That's what makes it such a good fit for people in Blackpool who want practical skills rather than a points score. You train in normal clothes, at realistic distances, against strikes, grabs, chokes, weapons and multiple opponents. Beginners are welcome every single week — and around a third of our adult students are women.
Krav Maga Complete has taught across the Fylde coast since 2014. Every class is led in person by a Krav Maga Global certified instructor — never franchised, never delegated to a video.
Confidence, awareness and age-appropriate self-defence through structured games. Anti-bullying mindset, no fear-based teaching. First session free.
Kids' martial arts →Real techniques for the situations teens actually face — pushed, grabbed, cornered. De-escalation, awareness and confidence that carries into school and beyond.
Teens programme →The full Krav Maga curriculum — strikes, defences, chokes, weapons, ground and multiple attackers. All fitness levels. Two trial classes for £19.99.
Adults programme →Wherever you are on the Fylde coast, there's a class near you. Pick the venue that suits you and come along.
It depends on your goal. For sport and competition, boxing or BJJ are excellent. If your priority is self-defence you can rely on quickly, Krav Maga is purpose-built for it — it borrows the most effective techniques from many martial arts and pressure-tests them against realistic attacks. Here's an honest comparison, or try two adult classes for £19.99 and judge for yourself.

Absolutely. Most people walk in as complete beginners with no particular fitness level. The first class is about learning safely, and you build from there at your own pace. Here's what to expect.
