After twelve years on the Fylde coast, Krav Maga Complete opens its fifth venue at Penwortham Priory Academy on Thursday 15 October. Juniors and teens 6:15pm, adults 7:00pm — and the first night is completely free for everyone.
Both Preston sessions on Thursday 15 October 2026 are free. Not a discounted trial, not a taster with a catch — free, for juniors, teens and adults alike. No card, no payment, nothing to cancel.
There's a reason we're doing it that way. Walking into an established class where everyone already knows the drills is the single biggest thing that stops people starting a martial art. Preston doesn't have that problem — the room starts empty. Everybody there on the 15th learns the first technique at the same time, from the same coach, on the same night.
Each session is capped at 25 places, because that's what the hall comfortably holds and we'd rather coach properly than cram. Places go in the order they're reserved.
Juniors and teens train together at Preston — confidence, awareness and age-appropriate self-defence, taught through structured drills and games with strict safety. No fear-based teaching, ever. Parents are welcome to stay and watch.
The full Krav Maga Global system — strikes, defences, chokes, releases, ground and multiple attackers, scaled for civilians. Every fitness level trains in the same room and you set your own intensity from day one.
Both sessions run every Thursday from 15 October onwards. Reserve your free place below →
We've deliberately picked a spot just south of the Ribble rather than in the middle of town. Penwortham Priory Academy sits on Crow Hills Road with its own car park, which means no city-centre parking and an easy run in from Penwortham, Longton, Hutton, Walton-le-Dale, Bamber Bridge and Leyland — as well as central Preston, which is only a few minutes over the bridge.
School sports halls are what KMC trains in across the Fylde coast, so this is familiar ground: sprung floors, proper space, good lighting, and somewhere you can park and walk straight in.
The two sessions are back to back, which makes the school run version of this easy: drop the kids at 6:15, they finish at 7:00, and the adult class starts straight after, so if you want to train yourself you're already there.
Opening night is free, but it isn't unlimited — 25 places per session, first reserved, first served. Put your name down and we'll hold you a spot, email you the details the week before, and text you a reminder on the day.

Krav Maga Complete has run on the Fylde coast since 2014 and teaches across five venues in Blackpool, Thornton-Cleveleys and Preston — juniors, teens and adults, every week, rated 5.0 on Google. Preston is the fifth venue of an established school, not somebody's first attempt at running a class.
Sessions are led by head coach Kev, who has seventeen years in Krav Maga and is a fully qualified adult and children's instructor, supported by coaches Adam, Daz and Phil. Everyone trains the Krav Maga Global curriculum — the system founded by Imi Lichtenfeld and developed under Eyal Yanilov — scaled to age and ability.
No competition ladder, no sparring league, no tournaments to train for. The curriculum is built around what actually happens in real incidents — and getting away from them.
Contact is light and controlled, especially early on. All fitness levels train in the same room and you dial your own effort up or down from day one.
KMC doesn't tie people into long agreements at any venue, and Preston will work the same way. Train because it's worth turning up for.
Wear normal gym kit — loose clothing, clean indoor trainers — and bring a water bottle. No uniform, no gloves, nothing to buy on day one. Arrive about ten minutes before your session starts, introduce yourself to the coach, and flag any injuries.
A typical session runs warm-up → technique → drills: the coach breaks a movement down step by step, you practise it with a partner using light, controlled contact, then repeat it under slightly more realistic conditions until it feels natural. Nobody is thrown in at the deep end, and on opening night in particular there's no deep end to be thrown into.
For the juniors and teens session, parents are welcome to stay in the hall and watch — most do on the first night.
Yes — completely. Both sessions on Thursday 15 October are free for juniors, teens and adults. No payment, no card details, nothing to cancel. The only thing we ask is that you reserve a place first, because each session is capped at 25 people and we'd rather not turn anyone away on the door.
Thursday 15 October 2026 at Penwortham Priory Academy, Crow Hills Road, PR1 0JE. Juniors and teens (5–16) train 6:15–7:00pm; adults (17+) train 7:00–8:00pm. Both then run every Thursday.
Yes. At Preston the juniors and teens train as one session from 6:15–7:00pm, so siblings across that age range come at the same time. The coach scales the drills by age and size within the session.
Penwortham Priory Academy on Crow Hills Road, just south of the Ribble in Penwortham — a few minutes from Preston city centre and easy to reach from Longton, Hutton, Walton-le-Dale, Bamber Bridge and Leyland. There's a free on-site car park.
None. The Preston classes start from zero on 15 October, so everyone in the room will be a beginner together. That's the easiest possible way to start a martial art.
Anyone who joins on or before opening night locks in a reduced monthly rate and keeps it for as long as they keep training in Preston. We'll email the rate to everyone who's reserved a place before it goes public. There's no contract at any KMC venue.
No, and it's unlikely. All fitness levels train together and you control your own intensity. Contact is light and controlled, especially for beginners; the odd bruise happens in any contact activity, but serious injuries are rare and every session is supervised by certified coaches.
Krav Maga is a self-defence system rather than a sport — there's no competition format, and techniques are chosen for how well they work in real incidents rather than under rules. Full comparison here →
